Day 10: This Is Not the End
Oh yeah baby! Day 10 FISTBUMP! You did it! I’m excited to be writing this and even more excited for you to be reading it, because that means you’ve spent 10 days drawing closer to God. I can’t wait for you to see what He does in your life after this start into the deeper waters of knowing Him as you pray Humbly, Specifically, Persistently, and Expectantly.
If a difficult situation, a need for breakthrough, or a genuine desire to draw closer to God drove you to this fast, be sure to walk boldly and let the voice of faith silence the voice of fear! Remember, fear isn’t from God because He hasn’t given you the spirit of fear. Step into the deep waters of life—and expect that something amazing is about to happen.
Peter is famous for sinking when Jesus came walking on the water to meet His disciples. They all got wet—with rain, and Peter in the sea—but at least Peter had the guts to get out of the boat! The rest of them stayed in there.
You had the faith to get out of the boat!
You’ve gotten your feet wet through fasting like Daniel, and I’m telling you that no matter what inspired this fast, God has your breakthrough on the way.
Remember your HSPE—stay HUMBLE, submitting your will to His; ask for your SPECIFIC needs according to His Word; keep praying PERSISTENTLY, even when you don't see the results right away; and cultivate a hopeful EXPECTATION that God is going to show up, no matter how long it takes.
Whatever you’re praying and fasting for, Jesus paid the price in full on Calvary. The work is done. You aren’t earning anything; you’re receiving His free gifts of grace.
I leave you with some of the best advice the Apostle Paul ever gave: “Rejoice in the Lord always.”
This isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning.
